Bats under roof tiles
Bats, especially when they are grouped in one big roosting colony,
would most likely take up a space to live in at a house or building.
Barns, as well as attics are the usual target areas for bats, mainly
because they are cool and dark even at high noon. These flying mammals
can glide through thin openings in order to enter a house or building,
and once they get in and find the place comfortable, expect them to
populate the room until some of them would pass through the chimney or
open windows to grab fresh air. Aside from barns and attics, bats also
thrive in the basement. You will then notice a distinctive smell in
these parts of the house, as they easily release guano and urine when
resting. Also, there will be times when a lost bat finds itself in the
living room, and once this happens to your home, you should take
appropriate action.
